BORN THIS WAY: The Post Mortem

Cover Art - Album Lady GaGa, originally uploaded by Yaghyah.

This week has seen the release of the long awaited Born This Way album by Lady GaGa. With the release of some singles prior to the set date of the album release, GaGa has given up a taste of what to expect this time round.

This post focuses on various articles from Rolling Stone & NME online on their thoughts of this new album.

NME: ‘Born This Way’ specifically references race and sexuality. Here’s a fearless equality anthem that makes someone like Katy Perry, firing cream out of her tits and banging on about fireworks, seem a little disingenuous.

In keeping with this spirit of directness, ‘Born This Way’ is proud to showcase its history. It takes its title from Carl Bean’s legendary ’70s disco anthem, for example, while the production is not without its nods to Madonna in her late-’80s Imperial phase.

Pop rarely hits the mark when it sets its trajectory to ‘significant’, but ‘Born This Way’ is a landmark Gaga release – and there are even dizzier highs to come on the album…

BELOW: GAGA - EXPOSED
Lady Gaga Uncovered

ROLLING STONE: 'Born This Way' has all the electro- sleaze beats and Eurodisco chorus chants that made her the Fame
Monster. But the big surprise is the way Gaga pillages the Bon Jovi, Pat
Benatar and Eddie Money records of her childhood. In the 1980s, radio was full of tormented Catholic kids, from Madonna to Springsteen. Gaga clearly grew up on that stuff.

She doesn't just give her Springsteen homage "The Edge of Glory" a sax solo – she gets Clarence Clemons himself to play it.

All over Born This Way, she takes on the big topics dear to her heart: sex, religion, muscle cars, her hair. She sings in French, German, Spanish and whatever language wants to claim "punk-tious." She seduces men, women, deities and dead presidents.

("Put your hands on me/John F. Kennedy" – hey, it rhymes.) And in "Heavy Metal Lover," Gaga purrs the immortal pickup line "I want your whiskey mouth/All over my blond
south."

Some songs are already familiar – at this point you could hum the Tarzan-boy yodels of "Judas" in your sleep.
But the singles gain resonance on the album, where they're surrounded by similar-minded psychosexual turmoil.

"Born This Way" pulls an expert bitch- stole-my-look on Madonna's "Express
Yourself." But that isn't even the most brazen Madonna rip here: That honor goes to "Judas." And if you thought the Catholic angst of "Judas" was over-the-top, check out "Bloody Mary," where Gaga does the Stations
of the Cross to a Chic bass line.

The new issue of Rolling Stone, on stands and in the digital archive on May 27th, includes an in-depth cover story on Lady Gaga by writer Brian
Hiatt, who was given intimate, fly-on-the wall access to the pop superstar as she played the final dates of her Monster Ball Tour and put the finishing touches on her new album Born This
Way.

"When I am not onstage I feel dead," she says. "Whether that is
healthy or not to you, or healthy or not to anyone, or a doctor, is really of no concern to me.

I don't feel alive unless I'm performing, and that's just the way I was born." In the story, Gaga reveals that she's recently derived a lot of inspiration from an unlikely source: Rocky IV. "My favorite part is when Apollo's ex-trainer says to Rocky, 'He is not a machine.

He's a man. Cut him, and once he feels his own blood, he will
fear you.' I know it sounds crazy, but I was thinking about the machine of the music industry. I started to think about how I have to make the music industry bleed to remind it that it's human, it's not a machine."

Thats it, a total round up of GAGA fest-ness that has been happening this week!!

30 Seconds To Mars about to announce a SPLIT??

30 Seconds To Mars, originally uploaded by Yaghyah.

Look at that 30STM fans, another hint has been thrown at us that the band is about to split. Rumour OR no Rumour?? You decide...

In a recent interview, the band raised speculation after speaking about their future hinting "that they could be going on
a ten-year hiatus after the end of
their current world tour"

NOW in a new interview, guitarist Tomo Milicevic would only joke: "We can neither confirm nor
deny these allegations." remaining non-committal about their future.

Jared Leto

Jared Leto did however claim that they are exhausted after the promotion of their current "This Is War" album, saying: "I would love to make another video. [But] I think if we
did make another video, it would probably kill me, because I've been making videos for the past 18-20 months. I may have to go and check myself in for some time away if I do another video."

Lady GaGa hits us up with singles & a doccie!

Lady GaGa , originally uploaded by Yaghyah.

So there has been ALOT of new things happening in GagaVille(lol) with Singles being thrown at us like crazy. We think GaGa is gearing up for the release of Born This Way next Monday. Lets see what the celeb scene says about this:

Two more of Lady Gaga's Born This Way album tracks are here today (Yesterday).

Deja Gaga? We swear on our mother's Coke-can curlers this isn't the same story you read yesterday. To wit: bet you haven't heard "Electric Chapel" or
"Heavy Metal Lover" before. (If you're not a habitual FarmVille player or spend every waking second scanning Lady Gaga Google News alerts, anyway.)

Those are the titles of the latest tracks the pop star debuted via online game FarmVille. With the still fresh "Hair" and "Marry The Night" released earlier this week, you'd think every little monster in monster-town would have heard all of new album Born This Way by now -- though apparently they might have.

According to Pop Dust, the album leaked last night, ahead of its May 23 release date. But let's not dwell on that point; we can only expect it'd upset Gaga -- and with that woman's hectic schedule, we hardly think she could fit in MORE time to re-apply her make-up.

How about those songs? Like the last few album tracks, "Electric Chapel" and "Heavy Metal Lover" are deliciously over-the-top '80s and '90s retro.

No, that doesn't mean she's laying on even more sax solos. There is, however, a guitar lick at the opening of "Electric Chapel" -- the likes of which you probably haven't heard since you were listening to Judas Priest (or, alternately, watching Power Rangers).

"Heavy Metal Lover" is a little lighter on the headbanging references -- a sub-dued synth-pop track that opens with
Gaga ordering:

"I want your whiskey mouth all over my blonde south."

ALSO, Lady GaGa in association with MTV has revealed that she will premiere a documentary about her life called "Lady GaGa: Inside the Outside"

Lady Gaga is giving fans a peek at the girl behind the pop star in an exclusive special titled " is giving fans a peek at the girl behind the pop star in an exclusive special titled "Lady Gaga: Inside the Outside."

In the hour-long interview, the singer reveals how she went from Stefani Germanotta to Gaga, pop's pre-eminent global superstar, and allows her audience to share her vulnerabilities.

During the intimate chat, Mother
Monster opens up about her rise to fame — from her school days of being bullied by classmates to the moment she decided to pursue her dreams of pop stardom.
She speaks in depth about the moments that shaped her as
an artist, including the release of her highly anticipated album, Born This Way, on May 23.

"Lady Gaga: Inside the Outside" also focuses on Gaga at home, spotlighting her close relationship with her family and growing up in Manhattan before she made the life-changing decision to move out on her own to New York City's Lower East Side.

Gaga recalls being bullied by students at school and what impact it had on her. "I remember once, some of the girls from my class, they were hanging out with some boys that I knew also,"
the "Judas" singer says. "And then I went to meet some friends for some pizza that were at the same pizzeria, and the boys picked me up and threw me in the trashcan on the street on the corner of my block, while all the other girls from the school were leaving and could see me in the trash and everybody was laughing — and I was even laughing.

"I always have that nervous giggle and I just remember, like, holding back the tears and the lip quivering," she continues. "And I remember even one of the girls looking at me like, 'Are you about to cry? You're pathetic.'

I remember I didn't tell anybody, that's what I remember. I remember I didn't want to tell my parents because it was too
embarrassing. And I remember I didn't want to really bring it up with my girlfriends even though they were there."

Her parents, as Gaga explains in the special, have always been supportive of her dreams, even if it meant challenging her.

"My dad was really into rock and roll. Bruce Springsteen had such an influence on our home. My dad saw me singing along to his records and he would pick me up and throw me around the room and laugh and cry with me while I would sing Pink Floyd and Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel records with him.

My father gave me — I believe it was for Christmas — it was a Bruce Springsteen songbook for the piano and on it was 'Thunder Road, 'which is my favorite Bruce Springsteen song. And my dad said, 'If you learn how to play this song, we will take out a loan for a grand piano, a baby grand.' I didn't know the difference.
There was the big one and a small
one.

"A young Gaga was more than up for the challenge. "So I remember it was the hardest thing for me. I was playing these huge pieces, like 15 pages long. ... I opened up the book and there was, like, chords, guitar chords. I was so confused, I didn't understand it, so I just started to read it," she recalls.

"Eventually, I got it down."

Lady GaGa releases Edge of Glory Online

Lady GaGa - Edge of Glory, originally uploaded by Yaghyah.

Yesterday Lady GaGa released a new single of her new album named "Edge of Glory". First it was Born This Way, then it was Judas - Now with a romantic story at hand this track was released online yesterday (May 9) and well... We're impressed

MTV Online reports: "It opens with Gaga's vocals over a keyboard.

"I need a man who thinks it's right when it's so wrong,"

Gaga sings: "Tonight, yeah, baby, right on the limits/ Where we know where we both belong/Tonight."

The song's production harks back to late '80s, early '90s adult-contemporary pop, when big choruses where the norm.

"I'm on the edge of glory and hanging on a moment of truth," she sings in the refrain. "I'm on the edge of glory and I'm hanging on a moment with you/ I'm on the edge."

What makes the song stand out from others on the radio now is a sax solo courtesy of Clarence Clemons (E Street Band) right in the middle of the track, as Gaga belts out, "I'm on the edge with you."

Clemons also appears on the song "Hair" on Born This Way. This single certainly shows a softer side for the star. Her previous two Born This Way releases have been harsher and more industrial-sounding."

The track was co-produced by Gaga herself, Fernando Garibay & DJ White Shadow. Garibay told MTV - "The great thing about dance songs is, for me, most of the time, they start off as ballads, and that's the approach I've been trying to keep going"

He also says: "We wrote songs,
particularly Gaga wrote these songs, to live in a dance environment. Yeah, they're dance, but I think the whole
thing, too, is that they're songs and
genuine to her."

I'd say... Three Cheers to Edge of Glory!!

Egg Pelter at Justin Bieber Sydney concert gets arrested

Whenever i think of Justin Bieber, i feel like its appropriate to burst out laughing at the hilarity that's happened in Sydney a few days ago. Good news is that the situation has now been sorted out. So... Uhm lets get done with this post & on with our lives. :P

The 17year old who pelted Justin with egg's while performing on stage, was arrested yesterday after police said him a little visit at his good before taking him to the local police station.

The little critter (actually a hero to me...) was then charged with breaking and entering, trespass and
malicious damage - after he apparently broke into Sydney's Acer Arena on the night of April 29 and threw eggs at Bieber.

Well according to the press & witnesses at the concert ALL of the eggs failed to hit Justin. Lucky kid!!

Justin Bieber - Vanity Fair
ABOVE: Justin Bieb's showing off in Vanity Fair's February Edition

Meanwhile the eggthrower who cannot be named as he is infact a MINOR, will face charges at a Sydney childrens court on June 2. He has been released on bail.

Well so lets see how this plays off...

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon announces the name of their twins...CRAZY NAMES!

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon, originally uploaded by Yaghyah.

So its official, Mariah Carey-Cannon whatchamacallit popped and named her babies. Well initially M thought it was only fair that her fans guess and do some hard thinking about what the kids names would be starting with an.....you guessed it! M!

Crazy names came out of Mariah & Nick's though. The girl was named Monroe, & the boy well.... Uhm... Moroccan Scott Cannon.

Riiiggghhhtttt.

This was met with mixed feelings and thoughts from the public. Well i can imagine that, like really Mariah... Moroccan?? What the hell...

Some comments i read on E! Online follows:

"HORRIBLE!! Moroccan?? Are you
kidding me?? They're lucky their rich
and famous or that boy would have
his azz beat every day at school. Don't
these celebs take even a second to
think that their poor kids are stuck with their stupid decisions for the rest
of their lives?"

"I'm so happy for Mariah * Nick.
Personally, I think the names were
expected to be different. Not everyone
has a simple name. I think they're cute
names! **"

"Who are we to judge what they name
their children? To each their
own...congrats on the two HEALTHY
babies! That's the IMPORTANT part of
the story."

...trolololololol at these people.

293.ab.Carey.Mariah.041610
ABOVE: Mariah Carey - flaunting it like should.

In a statement posted up on Mariah Carey's website - it said:

Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon have finally revealed the
names of their twins who were born in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Their son is named Moroccan Scott Cannon, with the nickname “Roc”. Scott is Nick’s middle name, as well as his grandmother’s maiden name. The top tier of Mariah’s New York City apartment is called the Moroccan Room, because of the Moroccan-inspired decor. It’s also the place where Nick proposed to his wife, overlooking Manhattan!

Their daughter’s name is Monroe Cannon. Mariah's rep says she does not have a middle name because Mariah herself does not have one.

Monroe was named after Marilyn Monroe, who has been an inspiration to Mariah her whole life. In fact, Mariah purchased the Hollywood icon’s white piano from Christie's auction house and it is in Mariah’s will that the piano will one day go to the Smithsonian.

Mariah’s rep, Cindi Berger, tells CNN, “It has been a long, emotional journey for this family, and I couldn’t be happier for all of them.”

Crazy Times i tell you. Cray-Craaaayyyy times!

Its may....really?? Time flies like crazy. 2011 is like halfway through already! Total madness. I've been neglecting my blog for a few days but its only because i was busy.... Actually its cause i was being lazy lol. But lets get back into the swing of things.

Being in the pipeline since like... Forever, Red Hot Chili Peppers WILL release their new album this August, drummer Chad Smith has confirmed.

NME online posted about a week ago reporting that Chad said the album, which is still without a title at present, will be released in the "last week of August", according to reports by Rock It Out.

He added: "It's been going good. We
got lots of songs, we're just choosing
the ones that are gonna be on the
album. It sounds great."

Speaking of the hook up with new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, who
replaced John Frusciante in 2010, Smith said: "He brought a lot to the table, he's an excellent writer."
